In the event of a disturbance in challenging environments like a mental health hospital or a prison, furniture can sometimes become the target of aggression. If furniture is too light, it may be picked up, and thrown or swung as a weapon, posing a safety risk to staff and other patients. An alternative is to fix furniture securely to the floor, but this solution isn’t suitable for all environments.
Products in our Fusion range are heavily weighted and have been designed to be difficult to pick up or throw. Unlike traditional chairs and tables, Fusion products do not feature individual legs which could otherwise be broken and used as a weapon.
All Fusion products can be upholstered in a combination of 2 different fabrics, offering extensive choice and customisation options.
