When speaking to our customers in mental health and custodial facilities, we frequently hear a similar storey. Patients and prisoners use their mattress to block or obscure vision panels into private room and cell areas. After hearing this issue from a number of different customers we decided we need to act and come up with an effective solution, and we’re very excited to share it.
Our solution is the Scorpio Collapsible Mattress which features a tri-fold design to stop patients and prisoners from using the mattress to obscure vision panels. By increasing the visibility into rooms, it’s making it safer for staff to carry out checks and increases their confidence in daily routines. Full vision through windows allows staff to assess any potential risks, reducing the potential for harmful incidents that can lead to staff injuries and helps to create a safer working environment.
The new Scorpio Collapsible Mattress has been rigorously tested at Pineapple HQ to ensure the tri-fold design has the desired effect and collapses when being stood on end. The mattress also boasts all of the features of the popular Scorpio Anti-Vandal Mattress, and therefore has a heavy-duty anti-vandal cover, is waterproof with heat-welded seams and is fire retardant to Crib Source 5 or 7.
