Foss Park Mental Health Hospital

The hospital comprises four inpatient wards, each offering valuable specialist care for those needing a secure, safe space to support recovery.

Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust opened Foss Park to provide improved mental health in-patient facilities to the local community and wider North Yorkshire area.

Foss Park is a state-of-the-art 72-bed hospital for those experiencing mental health crisis. The hospital comprises of four inpatient wards, each offering valuable specialist care for those needing a secure, safe space to support recovery.

This recently developed space was designed with nature in mind, with vine-like leaf decals applied to interior partitions. The muted colour scheme incorporates pale greens and browns which echo colours found in nature, bringing a tranquil and therapeutic atmosphere to the space.

Our Snug modular sofas were chosen for their flexibility in creating a variety of seating configurations for lounge areas, situated alongside our robust Cumulus coffee tables. For the dining and recreation areas our reduced-ligature Ryno dining chairs offer strength and safety, and can be additionally weighted to reduce risk of misuse, which further ensures the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.

Our Cumulus table range features a high-pressure laminate surface which can be easily wiped-clean to aid in infection-control practices. The pedestal steel base ensures the table is easily accessible, wheelchair-friendly and provides added strength and stability.
