Grant House, Palliative Care
Grant House provides palliative care for patients at Ards Community Hospital near Belfast. During a recent refurbishment, chairs and 2-seaters from our Domus range were selected to create a comfortable and homely seating area.
“It’s rare to get this comfort from the health service.”
Our furniture is designed to fulfill the practical needs of staff and patients in a healthcare setting while bringing a stylish aesthetic that helps to create a warm and welcoming environment.
“…One patient even wanted a cup of tea and sit in one of the seats
after a consultation for 20 minutes because he felt so at home.”
– Strategic lead (Palliative Care)
Within healthcare environments, hygiene is of upmost importance and the Domus range is designed for ease of cleaning. Fixed seat cushions minimise dirt-traps, and the open footwell design means staff can clean underneath without needing to move furniture, which in turn aids cleaning staff wellbeing.
We’re delighted to hear that our design ethos is helping to create a home-from-home for patients and visitors while enabling staff to fulfill their duties more efficiently.
