Introducing Fynn 2.0 Reduced-Ligature Task Light

Lighting can play a key role in humanising healthcare spaces. Beyond illumination, it can bring visual warmth, help to soften the built environment and provide valuable control over a person’s environment.

Like other fixtures, lighting in mental health spaces must be sensitively designed to preserve safety by minimising ligature risks, preventing tampering and reducing the likelihood of damage.

We engineered Fynn 2.0 to withstand harsh treatment in challenging environments. With a strong cast aluminium construction and a durable powder-coated finish, the subtly sloped shell helps to reduce ligature risks, with security fixings to deter tampering

Fynn gives users comfortable, gradual control over their light levels. The soft-start operation prevents abrupt changes in light level, while tactile touch-and-hold dimming allows the brightness to be adjusted smoothly. When switched back on, Fynn returns to the same brightness level at which it was turned off.

With a CRI of 90, Fynn also renders colours accurately and vividly, supporting clinical observation while preserving the intended appearance of interior finishes.

Key features include:

• Reduced ligature – the sloping shape has been carefully designed to minimise ligature risks.
• Anti-vandal – designed to withstand harsh treatment in challenging environments. Fynn has been impact tested to IK10 and features anti-tamper fixings.
• Resistant finish – the strong cast aluminium construction has a durable powder coated finish, and is paired with a 6mm polycarbonate lens.
• Touch operated – with a soft-start, touch-and-hold dimming and memory that restores the previous light level when switched back on, users can easily achieve their preferred brightness without abrupt changes.
• Accurate illumination – Fynn’s energy-efficient 5W LEDs provide a Colour Rendering Index of 90+, preserving colour accuracy – essential for creating therapeutic environments and supporting clinical assessment.
• Splash-resistant – Fynn is tested for splash resistance with an IP65 rating. When sealed with anti-pick silicone, the product becomes highlight water-resistant and dustproof with IP66 rating.
