Introducing the Ryno® Blossom Bench

Biophilic Seating Designed for Mental Health Environments

Creating mental health environments that feel safe, welcoming and less institutional requires thoughtful design. The new Ryno® Blossom Bench from Pineapple brings together durability, safety and biophilic design to help create calmer, more therapeutic spaces.

Developed in association with behavioural health design expert Stephen N. Parker, the Ryno Blossom Bench takes inspiration from forms found in nature. Its smooth, petal-shaped profile and tactile ripple detailing offer a softer alternative to traditional healthcare seating, helping to introduce a more organic feel into both indoor and outdoor environments.

Flexible seating inspired by nature

A key feature of the Ryno Blossom Bench is its modular design. Multiple benches can be positioned around planters or arranged in flower-petal-inspired configurations, creating different social settings for individuals or groups. This flexibility supports biophilic design principles and can help strengthen the connection between people and nature.

Designed specifically for challenging environments, the bench is 39kg as standard, with a 127kg weighted option available to further deter misuse. It also features a waterproof, hygienic wipe-clean surface, integrated water run-off and UV-stabilised material, making it suitable for outdoor use. Strength and stability have also been tested for severe contract environments.

The Ryno Blossom Bench is also 100% recyclable and available in a wide range of shell colours, giving designers greater freedom to create welcoming schemes that complement their surroundings.

By combining robust construction with an organic, nature-inspired aesthetic, the Ryno Blossom Bench offers a practical new seating solution for mental health facilities, behavioural healthcare environments and therapeutic outdoor spaces.
