Pineapple Contracts’ Ryno range recognised on the global stage

Pineapple Contracts is delighted to announce that their Ryno range has gained global recognition at the 2017 European Healthcare Design Awards. Held on Tuesday 13th June at the Royal College of Physicians in London, the awards celebrated environments and products “that promote health and wellbeing, embed quality improvement, and support the delivery of treatment and care in an accessible, economic and equitable way.”

Ryno was highly commended by judges in the “Design Innovation for Quality Improvement” category in which submissions were judged on a range of criteria including sustainability, cost-benefits, design values and benefits to overall patient experience.

Pineapple Contract’s Head of Marketing said “I’m delighted to accept this commendation for our Ryno range. We worked closely with staff and patients to make sure we understood their needs before starting any design work which I feel has been instrumental to its success”. Presenting the award, Christine Chadwick, National Senior Director, Infrastructure Solutions at GE Healthcare said “It’s an excellent product, very exciting”.

The Ryno range of products have been successfully introduced to a range of indoor and outdoor environments including mental health, children’s units, healthcare, prisons and custodial. The design specifically removes all opportunity for weaponization or stashing and it’s optional weighting reduces risk of aggravated behaviours. Ryno products are available in a range of colours, designed by world-renowned colour consultants Seymourpowell, from bright primary colours through mid-tones to neutral shades.

The combined effect of these design features leads to an enhanced environment focused on creating therapeutic recovery pathways for users and peace of mind for staff welfare.
