HRH The Duchess of Cambridge visits ‘The Nook’ a new hospice transforming children’s palliative care in Norfolk

“The furniture we purchased from Pineapple for our new, state of the art hospice compliments the building beautifully, providing comfortable, non-clinical looking seating which allows for robust infection control procedures alongside the comfort required for our families.” – Jane Campbell (EACH Service Manager)

After six years of nationwide fundraising, a new purpose-built hospice was developed in the heart of Norfolk. Affectionately called ‘The Nook’, this state-of-the-art children’s hospice was established to help transform children’s palliative care in Norfolk and North Suffolk, with the aim to deliver even better children’s hospice care services.

In late 2019, HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, Royal Patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) attended the charity’s celebrations of its new Norfolk hospice. The Duchess spoke to staff, volunteers and families who are being supported by the charity.

Working closely with EACH, we drew on our extensive experience in the healthcare sector to provide furniture that offered home-comforts and style alongside functionality and durability.

Our Snug modular seating was chosen for its soft and sumptuous comfort, the flexibility of modular design allows the seating to be used individually or in multiples to create a socially inclusive space. Our Aruba sofas provides the appearance of a traditionally constructed sofa but contain extra internal reinforcement, making them an ideal option for high traffic areas. Our Ontario range provides a well-constructed, contemporary feel to the hospice’s bedrooms.
